1/2 C. shortening
1/2 C. sugar
1/2 C. brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 C. buttermilk (or sour milk)
1 tsp vanilla
2 C. flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Topping:
1/4 C. sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugars. Mix in egg, buttermilk and vanilla. Combine the dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoons 2" apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Combine sugar & cinnamon and sprinkle over dough before baking. Bake at 400º for 7-9 minutes or until set.
