1/4 lb. butter (1 - 4 oz. stick)
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 oz. baker's chocolate
1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. coffee
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. sour cream
2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
For Frosting:
1/8 lb. butter (1/2 - 4 oz. stick)
1 1/3 c. confectioners sugar
1/3 c. unsweetened powdered cocoa
1/4 c. coffee
pinch salt
1/2 tsp. grated orange peel
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 325º - 350º. To make the cake batter, mix together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. Melt chocolate in coffee and let cool. Cream butter with sugar and add chocolate/ coffee mixture. Add 3 beaten eggs, one at a time into the mix. Mix in sour cream. Add flour mixture into batter then add vanilla. Pour batter into two 8", buttered and floured cake pans. Bake 30 to 45 minutes. Check early for doneness using a toothpick. To make the frosting, cream the butter and add cocoa. Put a little coffee in the mixture and a little sugar until it is a good consistency. Lila puts raspberries in between the layers.
