2 cups plain flour
2/3 cup shortening
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup ice water
4 cups blackberries
1/3-1/2 cup cornstarch
2 cups water
2 cups sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cut shortening into flour and salt. Add ice water and stir with fork until dough forms ball and all flour is moistened. Refrigerate overnight.
Mix berries with water and bring to boil. Mix cornstarch with sugar. Remove 1/3-1/2 of dough and roll for thin crust between wax paper. Place 1/3-1/2 of berries (depending if you use 2 or 3 crusts) in pan. Sprinkle with sugar mixture and lay on crust. Bake at 350 º (glass pan), 375º (metal pan). Bake in oven until brown. While this is baking roll another crust and proceed as above. Keep dough in refrigerator as it will roll out better.
