1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
2 eggs (unbeaten)
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 cup nuts
1 cup coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Put shortening, sugars. flavorings and eggs in mixing bowl and beat thoroughly. Sift flour, soda and salt and add to shortening mixture. Fold in oatmeal, coconut and nuts. Shape the dough into small balls. Bake in 350 oven for 12-15 minutes on a greased cookie sheet. Cool on pan for 2 minutes before removing from pan.
