1 cup butter
2 1/2 cups white sugar
3 whole eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup cocoa
2 1/2 cups hot water

Frosting
2/3 cup butter
6 oz cream cheese
4 cups powdered sugar
1 1/4 cocoa
1/2 cup half and half
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour two 9" cake pans. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well. sift together flour, soda and cocoa. Alternate dry ingredients into creamed mixture with hot water. Beat until smooth. Pour batter into pans. Bake 45 minutes or until tests done with a toothpick.

Frosting
Cream butter and cream cheese. Sift together powdered sugar and cocoa. Alternate dry ingredients into creamed mixture with the half and half and vanilla. Mix well. Frost cake when completely cooled.
