2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 tsp vanilla
1 large package chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, soda and salt together. (I just stir). Cream shortening and sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla. Blend thoroughly. Add dry ingredients. Fold in chips and nuts (if desired). Drop from teaspoon onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 12 - 15 min.
