1 1/2 cups hot water
1 1/4 cups brown sugar (packed)
1 cup Dromedary Dates, sliced
1 cup seedless raisins
2/3 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup dark molasses
2 eggs
1 pound container Dromedary Fruits and Peels (2 cups)
1 cup chopped nuts
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine hot water, brown sugar, dates, raisins, butter, and molasses in a saucepan. Boil gently for 3 minutes. Cool in a large mixing bowl.

Beat in eggs. Add fruit and nuts; set aside.

Sift together dry ingredients. Add gradually to fruit mixture, beating well after each addition. Pour into a 9 inch tube pan, lined with a greased wax paper.

Bake in a very slow oven (275 degree F) for 2 1/2 hours, or until completely baked. Remove cake from pan. Cool thoroughly.

Wrap securely in waxed paper. Store in clean, air-tight container in cool place. Age 3 to 4 weeks to improve flavor. Will Store well for 6 weeks.
