2 eggs seperated
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 T. flour
4 T. butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine egg yolks, brown sugar, salt, flour, milk and butter in saucepan and stir constantly until thickened. Then allow to simmer for 15 mins. stirring occasionally. When cool add vanilla and pour into a pie crust top with meringue if desired.

Recipe so old probably is from Lizzie Holder. Also another in collection said 4 egg yolks, 2 c. brn sugar shown double the ingredients except has 3 T. butter cook until thick Makes 2 pies and says Janet.
