1 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. buttermilk
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cornmeal and salt. Stir in boiling water and melted butter. Cover and let stand 10 minutes.
Stir in eggs, buttermilk, flour and soda. Batter will be very thin. Bake on well-greased griddle. Serve at once. Makes 4 dozen small cakes.
