2 lbs. lean ground beef or venison
2 large onions, chopped
3 large cloves garlic, minced
2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans, undrained
2 cans stewed tomatoes (qty can be varied based on preference)
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
water, if desired
2 T. chili powder
2 tsp. garlic salt
1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. ground red pepper
1/4 tsp. hot sauce (optional)
shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cook ground meat, onion and garlic in Dutch oven over medium-high heat until meat is browned and onion is tender, stirring until meat crumbles; drain well.

Stir in beans and next 10 ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
