2 cups salted codfish, 2 cups mashed potatoes, 1 tbsp butter, 1/4 cup milk, 1/2 tsp baking powder, dash of pepper, 1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Soak codfish in cold water at least two hours. Drain thoroughly - then cover again with cold water in pan and cook simmering until tender and flaky. Chop the fish finely. Add everything to the mashed potatoes and beat well until thoroughly. Shape into flat cakes and fry in butter or bacon fat until golden brown.
