1 bottle chili sauce will do 6 pounds of hamburger

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together chili sauce and chili powder and heat for a few minutes. Add plain uncooked hamburger. Stir periodically and you may have to add a little water if it gets too thick. Stir to mix and let cook until you can smell the chili and someone says, “Are you making chili?” Spoon off grease. Perk says you can get 12 hot dogs from 1 pound of chili.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Everybody wanted Perk’s recipe for chili because it’s so good. Turns out she didn’t have one, so Sue just watched her prepare it and wrote it down. We all look forward to Friday nights at our Reunions – Perk’s chili. Yum. Double Yum.

From Perk: This was a LOW:

J. B. and I were in the air force and stationed in Myrtle Beach in 1966. J. B. had 2 extra jobs and I babysat to get extra money. The last few days before payday were lean ones. One night before payday we had nothing to eat but some popcorn. I popped all we had and sat it down. I cleaned the kitchen and went to sit down and J. B. had eaten all of the popcorn.

This was a HIGH:

Labor Day 2001—we were able to feed the Class of ’61----NO PROBLEM - and every year since.
