3 pints of clams in shells, 2 cups water, boiling, 1 small onion, chopped, 2 medium potatoes,(2 cups cubed), salt and pepper, 3 tbsp butter, 1 cup milk, 4 - 6 common crackers

Directions:
Directions:
Steam clams in the 2 cups boiling water ( cover Pan0 just till the shells open. Remove clams from shells, snip off and discard the tips of the necks. Rinse the clams in the broth and cut them up. Save the broth. Add potatoes and onion to broth and cook just until potatoes are soft.Mix the flour and milk together until smooth. Add to potatoes and clams in the broth for thickening, then pour into buttered casserole. Put crackers on top. Dot with butter. Bake 25 to 30 minutes Nice served with whipped potatoes with a grating of cheese on top and paprika.
