1 1/2 c thinly sliced fresh peaches
1 c sugar
1/4 c water
1 egg
1 tbsp shortening
1 tbsp milk
1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine peaches, 1/2 c sugar and water; bring to boil, stirring constantly. Keep hot. Beat egg with remaining sugar and shortening. Add milk; sift in flour, baking powder and salt. Spread batter in greased 2 x 6 x 10" baking dish; cover with hot peaches. Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes or until tender.
