Ingredients:  
1 cup onion, sliced (approximately ¾ large onion or 1 small onion)
3 - 4 cloves garlic, chopped
2 T. margarine or butter
1 (14.5 oz.) can whole, peeled tomatoes, cut up, undrained
1 ½ cups chicken broth
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
½ tsp. basil
1 tsp. thyme

Directions:
Directions:
In a large saucepan, cook onion and garlic in margarine or butter until tender, but not brown. Add tomatoes (undrained), broth, tomato sauce, basil and thyme. Bring to boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Blend mixture with hand blender.
