1 bag of fresh string beans (about 1 lb), washed and soaked in cold water, drained
1 15 oz. can of Hunts Tomato Sauce
1 15 oz. can of water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. oregano
Couple cloves of garlic
Olive oil for drizzling
Optional - 2 small cubed potatoes

Once string beans are drained, add all ingredients to a saucepan. Drizzle oil over top. Bring to a simmer, simmer about 20 minutes. Add cubed potatoes (if desired). Simmer another 20-30 minutes. Serve with crusty Italian bread.

This was one of my favorite side dishes/appetizers that Gramma would prepare to either accompany our Sunday dinners or as a delicious lunch for the 2 of us during the week. I loved dunking the fresh bread in the sauce. Tasting it now always makes me think of her.
