"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

1 package cream cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and cream cheese in a medium bowl with mixer on medium speed until creamy. Beat in marshmallow cream. Increase speed to high and beat 3 to 4 minutes until fluffy.

To make chocolate version:
Begin by melting the chocolate and 1 stick of butter together in microwave. Follow directions above. Once everything is mixed, this frosting may be a little too wet to frost immediately. Refrigerate until the consistency is more stiff but spreadable.

Personal Notes:
Every Sunday when going over Gram's house for Sunday dinner, she would quite often bake a chocolate cake to have with coffee. She would use Duncan Hines Devil's Food cake mix and bake it in an Angel Food cake pan (or a bundt pan). She would never use canned frosting - blasphemy! - but would always make her own buttercream frosting. She used to show me how to frost a cake so it would look bakery perfect. She would always decorate her cake with rainbow colored sprinkles - the little round balls. This recipe is my own favorite buttercream frosting and I bake this cake for my family to look as close to what Gramma's looked like on a Sunday afternoon...and always with coffee.
