1 cup raisins
1 medium apple, peeled and chopped, (approx. l cup)
3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup canola or light olive oil
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 cup flour
1 cup quick-cooking oats
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice (optional)
brown sugar

Preheat oven to 400º. Line 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners.

Combine raisins, apple, milk, sugar and oil in medium mixing bowl. Stir together walnuts, flour, oats, baking powder, salt and spices in small bowl. Combine with flour mixture and stir. Spoon batter into muffin cups. Top each with 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar.

Bake 20 minutes. Cool on rack.
