1 lb pkg of elbow macaroni
3 tbsp flour
2 tbsp butter
2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 cup minced onion (optional)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup bread crumbs

Directions:
Directions:
Cook macaroni as pkg directs and drain
Preheat oven to 350º

In medium pan, melt butter and stir in flour
Gradually stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly over medium heat until thicken.
Stir in salt and pepper, add onion and cheese.
Stir until cheese melts
Mix in elbows
Pour elbows into lightly greased baking dish
Top with bread crumbs
Bake 15-20 minutes until bread crumbs are brown

Baking dish about 2 quarts in size
Recipe can be doubled
