Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups flour 1/2 cup powdered sugar 3/4 cup butter 1 1/2 cups toasted pecans 3/4 cups light corn syrup 1/2 cup dark corn syrup 1 cup light brown sugar 1/4 cup butter 4 eggs 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans 1 tsp orange peel grated finely 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Directions:For crust: stir together flour and powdered sugar. Cut in 3/4 cup of butter until size of small peas. Stir in the 1 1/2 cups pecans and press into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 325º for 25 minutes or until light brown.
For filling: In a medium sauce pan combine light and dark corn syrups, brown sugar, and 1/4 cup butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Beat eggs over low speed and gradually add warm liquid. Stir in pecans, peel and vanilla. Pour filling over crust. Sprinkle with the chocolate chips. Bake at 325º for 40 minutes or until center is set. Cool and then chill prior to serving. |
