4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1/2 cup whole milk
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and mix well. Sift all dry ingredients together. Mix vanilla with milk. Add flour mixture to shortening alternating with milk and vanilla. Dough will be very sticky.

Roll dough out on a floured surface about 1/2" to 1" thick.

This dough can be used to make cookies or as pastry for turnover, single-serving pies.

Bake @ 350 for 15 - 20 minutes or until golden brown.
