1 cup margarine or butter softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together butter and sugars until creamy, add eggs and vanilla, beat well, Add combined flour, baking soda. Mix well. Stir in oats and chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 min in 350 oven. Cool slightly and remove to wire rack. Makes about 4 doz cookies.

When we were kids, mom would make up the dough for these cookies and before she could get them to the oven, more than half would be gone.
