2 c. maraschino cherries, cut in half
2 c. dates, chopped
2 c. pineapple tidbits, well drained
1 c. coconut, flakes
2 c. walnut, chopped
2 c. pecans in half
2 12 oz. pkg. semi-chocolate chips
3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 T. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. butter
2/3 c. cream de cocoa
1/2 c. cocoa powder
9 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the cherries, dates, pineapple, coconut, walnut, pecans and choc chips together in a large bowl. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, powder, salt, shortening, butter, cream de cocoa, cocoa, and eggs. Beat this mixture with electric mixer on low for 30 sec. then on high for 3 mins. Pour this batter over the fruit/nut mixture, stir, and place in two loaf pans that are well greased. Bake at 275º for 2 1/2 hours. Check after 2 hours. Remove from oven and let cool. Place each loaf on plastic wrap and pour a jigger of cream de cocoa over each and wrap up. Repeat adding jigger of cream once each week. Make this 3 - 4 weeks in advance of serving. Store in refrig.
