1/2 cup olive oil
1 can (12oz.) anchovy fillets
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 can (35oz.) plum tomatoes, divided
1 jar (2.5 oz.) capers, dried
1 1/2 cups pitted black olives, coarsley chopped
Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Place the oil, anchovies, and garlic in a heavy medium-size saucepan. Mash thoroughly to a paste. Add the tomatoes, capers, and olives. Stir and heat to simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Season to taste with pepper.
