2 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
2 pkg. dry yeast
7 to 8 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 t. ground cardamom
1/4 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk and butter to scalding. Put in large mixing bowl and cool to 110º. Stir in yeast and set aside for 10 min. stirring occasionally. Blend dry ingredients together and add slowly to the milk mixture. Turn on floured surface and allow to rest 5-10 min. Knead. Put in greased bowl and cover until doubled. Punch down, turn on floured surface and rest again 5-10 min. Shape into loaves and let rise until doubled.
Bake at 350º for 30 min
