head of cabbage (24 leaves)
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 lb . ground pork
1 c. raw rice
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. water
1 large onion, chopped fine
1 clove garlic
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 stalks celery, chopped fine
2 c. carrots, chopped
1/2 c. raisins
12 whole almonds
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. lemon juice
1 c. Italian tomatoes
1 c. tomato soup

Directions:
Directions:
Place the cabbage leaves in boiling water and cook 15 mins. Drain. Mix well the meats, rice, egg, water, onion, garlic, salt and pepper in a bowl. Place 1 heaping tablespoon of this onto each leaf and roll up. Place carrots and celery in bottom of pan and cabbage rolls on top. Next thing, place raisins and almonds on top of rolls. Finally combine the br. sugar, lemon, tomatoes and soup. Now place this last mixture over the rolls. Bake with a cover over it at 350º for 2 hours. Then bake 1 more hour uncovered. Serve with sour cream. These freeze well.
