fresh pears
2 c sugar
5 c water
(this is a combination of thin and medium syrup)

Directions:

Remove peel, core and cut into halves or quarters.
Boil sugar and water together until dissolved. Add 1/2 tsp mint extract to syrup and enough green food coloring to desired shade.Boil pears in syrup for 3-5 min. Pack into sterilized jars, and add syrup to 1/2" of top. Put on lids and bans and process in pressure canner for 10 min at 5# pressure, or hot water bath for 25 min.
I pack mine in quart jars.
