1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. milk
1 3/4 - 2 c. powdered sugar
hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter, add brown sugar and boil over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in milk, keep stirring until it comes to a boil. Cool to luke warm. Gradually add 1 3/4 to 2 cups powdered sugar. Beat until spreading consistency. If icing becomes too stiff, add a little hot water.

I remember growing up with this frosting. We always had it on spice cakes. Oh yum, I love this frosting.
