Ingredients:
8 cloves garlic
1 medium red onion
3 pounds lean ground beef
1 pound HOT Italian sausage (any brand name)
24 oz jar vodka pasta sauce
ricotta cheese 15 oz tub mixed with one egg & 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
6 oz shredded Swiss cheese
8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
4 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese for topping

3 tablespoon fresh oregano
3 teaspoons sugar
1 box lasagna noodles

Directions:
Directions:
In a large skillet brown ground beef and Italian sausage; drain the fat then add the chopped onion and garlic and all the spices until cooked in.
Now convert the meat mixture to a 4 quart pot and mix with all the canned items plus the gourmet vodka pasta sauce. Let simmer for 2-4 hours.
Make lasagna noodles as directed on the package and allow to cool so they can be layered between meat sauce and cheeses.
Mix ricotta cheese with one egg until well blended and set aside for layering with the noodles and meat sauce and cheeses.
Use a large lasagna pan; not an 11 by 13 but the next size up or one of those aluminum foil lasagna pans.
Layer all the prepped ingredients in the following pattern until the top is the noodles:
meat sauce
lasagna noodles
ricotta cheese blend
Swiss cheese
mozzarella cheese
Top with the sharp cheddar and Parmesan cheeses.
Cook for 30 minutes at 350 F.
Enjoy with French bread and a fresh tossed salad.

Personal Notes:
May substitute fat free/reduced fat cheeses; egg substitute in lieu of a regular egg and small curd cottage cheese fin lieu of ricotta cheese. You may also substitute any lean ground meat in lieu of the ones I listed. Its yummy and the way I have listed it is one of Dad's favorite Italian meals. Bon Appetit!
