3 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. Karo syrup
1 c. water
1 tsp. red food coloring
1 tsp. cinnamon oil
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sugar, syrup and water to hard crack (300º). Remove from heat and add, but don't stir yet, food coloring and cinnamon oil. Stir 50 times around the outside edge of pan. Pour on cookie sheet that has been dusted with powdered sugar. You'll be able to break into pieces right away after it has cooled. Store in dry place.

We got this recipe in 1986 when the Baptist Church cookbook came out. We tried different colors and flavors too but cinnamon was our favorite.
