1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup flour
2 tsps. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. lard (shortening)
water to make dough
chopped apple
butter
dash nutmeg
cinnamon
vanilla or lemon flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Put sugar and water in tin boil to a syrup. Make dough out of flour, baking powder salf and shortening water. Roll dough out, spread with chopped apples, dot with butter sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon and a few drops of vanilla or lemon. Roll up like a jelly roll. Dot or spread top of roll with butter and sprinkle with little sugar and cinnamon. Place roll in baking tin of syrup and bake no time or temp was given.
