1 pkg yeast
1 tsp sugar
1/2 c warm water
1/4 c sugar
1/3 c shortening
1 tsp salt
3/4 scalded milk
1 egg, beaten
3 1/2 c flour
3/4 c raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve 1 tsp sugar in lukewarm water. Add yeast, combine sugar, shortening, salt with scalded milk. Add beaten egg to milk mixture. Add flour and raisins. Mix until well blended. Let rise till double in bulk (about 1 hr). Stir down dough then spoon into well greased muffin pan, filling half full. Let rise about 1 hour. Bake at 350º for 15-20 minutes.


Candy buns
Spread 1/4 cup butter in bottom of 9" pan. Sprinkle generously with brown sugar. Form dough into 9 or 16 balls and coat with brown sugar. Place in pan. Bake at 350º for 20-25 minutes.

Mom made these buns EVERY Sunday. We could smell them when we came into the house after church.The candy buns were dessert.
