Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 onions, chopped
3/4 bunch celery, chopped
3 green peppers, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 c. oil
10 (32 oz.) cans tomatoes, diced
(don't use Safeway brand, it has too much sugar in it. Also I don't recommend the olive oil flavor of tomatoes. It adds too much oil.)
3 bay leaves
2-3 tsp. oregano
3-4 tsp. sweet basil
salt and pepper to taste
4 crabs
1-2 lbs. cod
1 lb. scallops
1 lb. shrimp, deveined and shelled
(steamer clams and other seafood may be added)

Directions:
Directions:
Cook onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in a large soup pot in heated oil for 10 minutes or until tender. Add tomatoes and seasonings and cook 1 hour. Add a little water if sauce becomes too thick. Add crab legs, fish, scallops and shrimp. Let simmer for 30 minutes or longer. Serve over spaghetti noodles or in a bowl by itself. Serve with French bread.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I have enjoyed carrrying on dad's cioppino recipe and having family get togethers to enjoy it. We spread out newspaper for placemats and have lots of napkins because when you start cracking the crab it gets really messy!! (but worth it!)
