4 eggs
2 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
one pie crust

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. Put the pie crust in a 9 inch pie plate and partially bake for about 10 minutes. Remove from oven. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs and add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Pour into crust and cover edges of pie. Bake for 20 -25 minutes or until a knife inserted into pie comes out clean. Cool and store in refrigerator.

Custard pies may have come about as a way to use an abundance of milk and eggs which were plentiful on the farm.
