1 lb Lard
1 qt. dark Karo syrup
l lb white sugar
3/4 tsp cloves
3/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp soda
l TBS anise oil
f1 tsp salt
2-l/2 cups nuts
3-l/2 to 4 lbs flour

Directions:

Mix ingredients and form long ropes about l" thick.
Freeze, then slice into penny size chips and bake at 350º until done. (not long)
