1 c. red and green cherries
2 slices of candied pineapple, chopped
1 lb. dates
1 c. walnuts, chopped
1 c. coconut
3/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Cut up fruit into a large bowl. Mix a little flour in to keep pieces separated. Set aside. In another bowl, cream butter, br. sugar, and add eggs (with vanilla) one at a time. Beat well. Sift the dry ingreds. together in a bowl. Add creamed mixture alternately with fruit mixture. Let this ripen for 3 weeks in a tin. Chill dough overnight before making cookies so it won't be too sticky. Spoon onto greased or sprayed cookie sheets. Bake at 300º for 15 mins.
