2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter
1/2 cup ice water
2 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup sugar
1 tblspn cornstarch
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 egg
water
1/2 cup confectioner sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour and slat.
Cut in 1/2 cup butter
Sprinkle with ice water
Roll 18" x 8"
Cut 1/4 cup butter in thin slices and place over 2/3rds of dough to within 1/2" of edges.
Fold the 1/3rd unbuttered dough over making it 8" x 6". Roll to 18" x 8". Slice remaining 1/4 cup butter. Place on dough and repeat folding.
Chill 15 minutes. Roll to 18" x 8". Fold lengthwise and chill 1 hour.
Filling: Mix apples, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice and cinnamon. Cook over low heat until tender. Chill.
Roll one half of dough into 12" square. Cut in to 4"-6" squares. Beat egg with 1 Tblspn water. Brush over squares. Spoon 1/8th of apple mix. Fold in half. Place on ungreased baking sheet.Brush with egg mix. Cut slashed. Repeat.
Bake 20 minutes @ 450º
