2 lb. pkg. frozen shredded hash browns
8 oz. pkg. shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Dash of garlic powder
1/2 c. finely chopped onion (I use several shakes of onion flakes)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 pint sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Set hash browns out to thaw. I usually pour them into a large bowl and defrost in microwave for speedier results. Add cheese and onion (if using fresh onion).
Melt butter and add onion flakes (if using) and seasonings. Stir in soup and mix well. Then add sour cream and mix well.
Pour sauce over potato mixture and mix well.
Pour into greased 9x13" baking dish and bake for 50-60 minutes at 350º.
