4 cups flour; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 1/2 cup sugar; 2 yeast cakes; 1-1/2 to 2 cups milk and 1/4 pound butter

Heat milk and butter together until luke warm and butter is melted. When cooled mix in 2 yeast packets and mix all together into flour mixture. Cover and let rise to double bulk. Keep near a warm place. Knead batter down and roll out. Cut into small pieces; Let them raise again. Fry in deep crisco oil. Sprinkle with confectioner sugar, cinnamon sugar or plain
