The secret to these pies to chill the dough atleast 2 hours, and place pies directly from frying pan to icing container, coating both sides.

Sift flour, salt, sugar and baking powder together. Make a well and add one tall can of carnation milk, egg and wession oil. Mix well and chill, roll out walnut sized pieces of dough paper thin, place fruit filling, fold, pinch edges and fry until golden brown.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Mrs. Burl (Virginia) Belew was an outspoken, tough minded about half mean woman from the country around Fluvanna, Texas. I was sorta scared of her, but I really think she was a nice ole gal, a good Church of Christ member and the mother of two boys, Denny and Joe Thell. She was very artistic and made sand candles that were just beautiful. I was lucky she shared this recipe with me, cause I don't think she ever like me very much...but, she loved my kids - Sky and Rana...who doesn't??
