1 C.butter
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C.light brown sugar;packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 3/4 C.sifted flour
1/2 tsp,salt
1/2 tsp.baking soda
1/2 C.finely chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter;add sugars,vanilla and eggs one at a time.Beat until light.Add sifted dry ingredients and nuts.Chill in refrigerator about 2 hrs.Shape into two loaves 2 in.square.Wrap in waxed paper and chill overnight.Slice 1/8 in.thick and bake on ungreased cookie sheets in 400F,oven about 6-8 min.Remove to wire rack while still hot.
