1 cup of SHORTENING
1 stick of BUTTER
3 EGGS
5 cups of FLOUR
3 tablespoons of VINEGAR (APPLE IS BEST)
1 teaspoon SODA
1 teaspoon SALT (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, butter and sugar together. Add eggs and vinegar. Sift together flour, salt and soda. Slowly add to creamed mixture. Roll out on a floured dough board, cut into strips (Miss Judy uses a pizza cutter. Bake in a 325º oven until slightly golden.

Mrs. Ralph (Judy) Bruce gave this to me in Tatum, New Mexico. On the note card she had written the following: "Gave to me from Yvonne Bruce around 1970. This is an old fashion T-Cake recipe. It was Rastus's mother's recipe." She has been a wonderful friend to us. These were Lovingly served at Rana and Bradley's wedding.
