1 1/2 c. warm water
2 pkgs. dry yeast
4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Dissolve yeast in large bowl with warm water. Stir, adding 1/2 cup flour, sugar, salt, shortening and egg. Beat until smooth; add remaining flour and mix by hand. Let rise for 30 minutes. Grease muffin pans. Stir batter and spoon into muffin pan. Let rise 20-30 minutes. Bake for about 10-15 minutes.

Mom Shafer made these rolls while Eldon went to pick up KFC chicken. She put the rolls in the oven just as he returned and we had the most delicious homemade rolls with our meal.
