1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs well beaten
3 bananas mashed with fork
2 cups flour (sifted 3 times)
1 tsp baking soda
4 T. sour milk
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs then bananas. Add soda stirring sour milk, add flour. Beat well. Adding nuts last.
Bake in loaf about 40 minutes in oven 350º

To make sour milk, combine 1 cup of milk and 1 tablespoon of vinegar and let sit for 15 minutes.

This recipe card found in Gramma Drabert's box was old and missing a corner. All the ingredients were there but the instructions were missing a few words. I filled in the blanks.
