1/2 lb Chicken Livers
1/2 can (8oz size) water chestnuts
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 thin slices fresh ginger
1 clove garlic, crushed
10 slices bacon

Directions:
Directions:
Cut the livers in half. Cut water chestnuts in half crosswise. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger root , and garlic in a glass or plastic bowl; stir in livers and chestnuts. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. Drain

Cut bacon slices in half. Wrap bacon around a piece of liver and water chestnut. Secure with a toothpick through both both. Arrange on rack of broiler pan. Cook in a 400º oven, turning once, until bacon crisps, 25 to 30 minutes

Mom used to make these without the water chestnuts and they were good. This, more traditional, recipe is even better!
