1 3/4 lb rutabaga, peeled and quartered
1 1/2 lb turnips, pealed and quartered
1 lb russet potatoes, peeled and quartered
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted
1/2 cup whipping cream
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Place the rutabaga in a 6qt pot with ample water and a pinch of salt. boil 15 minutes. Add turnips, and potatoes and boil 15 minutes more, until all veggies are tender. Drain well. Mash the vegetables with the remaining ingredients. I use a hand held mixer or my Kitchen-aid.

I love rutabagas and turnips but for those who don't care for their strong flavors this recipe, with the addition of potatoes, is the answer. Root veggies are so good for you and should be included in a balanced and varied diet. This recipe is rich and wholesome. Andrew tolerates it but Derek, and several friends and I love it! I sometimes garnish the steaming bowl with just a sprinkling of freshly grated nutmeg!
