1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups shortening
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups cake flour
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients together and refrigerate. Can divide dough and make different colors and mix together. Roll into logs and cut into 1/2 inch slices. Cookies swell so do not make too large. Bake at 350 for 10 - 15 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from pan.
