2 3/4 C sugar
1/2 C white Karo syrup
1/2 C water
2 egg whites
1 t vanilla
2 C pecans

Directions:
In medium saucepan, mix sugar, water, syrup. Cook on low heat until mixture forms semihard ball in cup of cold water. Beat egg whites stiff. Add cooked mixture to egg whites and beat until cool. Add vanilla, nuts. Beat until mixture can be dropped by teaspoonfuls. Butter spoon to drop candy and butter cookiesheet so candy won't stick. Put pecan halves on top of each piece of candy.
