2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
4 tablespoons sugar
6 tablespoons shortening
1 package dry yeast
1/4 cup very warm water
1 cup buttermilk
butter

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, salt, soda and sugar. Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in water and add to flour mixture. Add buttermilk. Mix well. Knead on floured board about 20 times. Roll out to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out with round cutter. Lay one round down spread with butter and put another round on top. Cover and let raise until doubled. Bake at 400 degrees on greased baking sheet for 10 minutes.
