1/2 bushel ripe tomatoes
3 pounds onions
5 - 6 hot peppers
2 large heads garlic
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup salt
4 tablespoons oregano
3 tablespoons basil
2 large can tomato paste (commercial size)

Directions:
Directions:
Wash, cut up and cook ripe tomatoes. Strain through food mill or sieve. Cut up all vegetables in food processor until fine, using a small amount of tomato juice in processor. Combine vegetables, tomatoes and spices together about 3 - 4 hours. Stir often to prevent sticking. Add tomato paste, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Process in quart jars in hot water bath for 30 minutes. Makes about 18 quarts.
